Some venues note a minimum spend, meaning they expect a certain amount to be spent on food and drink during your booking. It is an informational note from the venue and is never added to your AirOffices booking total.

Yes. Each venue sets its own cancellation lead time, which is shown on the workspace page and in your confirmation email. You can cancel or edit a booking from your AirOffices account within that window.

Are the star ratings on AirOffices genuine?

Yes. A venue's rating is the mean of every genuine review left by guests who actually completed a booking there. Venues with no reviews yet show no rating rather than a placeholder score, and hosts can publicly respond to a review but cannot remove it.

Every listing shows the venue's real address and map position, its published prices in South African rand, how many people the space seats, what is included, and the ratings left by guests who have actually booked it. You choose a date and a duration, pay online, and your confirmation and access details arrive by email straight away.

How the marketplace works

AirOffices does not own or run the venues it lists. Each space belongs to an independent host who sets its own prices, capacity, availability and house rules. AirOffices handles the parts in between: discovery, live availability, payment, confirmation and support.

A venue is reviewed before it appears publicly, and only goes live once it has at least one bookable space. Star ratings are the honest mean of every genuine review from guests who completed a booking there — a venue with no reviews yet shows no rating rather than a flattering placeholder, and a host can reply to a review in public but cannot remove it.

Who we are

AirOffices began in July 2024 in Cape Town with a simple question: what would make working in a coffee shop better? For months our founder sat in cafés across the city, speaking to the people around him about why they worked there and what they needed. One answer kept coming up: privacy. A quiet place for a Zoom call, a client meeting, or an hour of uninterrupted work.

That insight shaped the idea behind AirOffices — making high-quality private pods, meeting rooms and workspaces available in the venues people already visit, without the commitment and overhead of traditional coworking. Early advice encouraged us to start small, prove the concept, and build on what we learned; that reinforced a commitment to building AirOffices with integrity, humility and responsible stewardship.

Our first pilots began in September 2024 through partnerships with Vida e Caffè and other hospitality venues, as well as access to world-class Framery pods. By October the booking platform was live, and our first paying customers — a doctor and a landscaper — had made their bookings.

The journey has not been without challenges. Usage was uneven, platform issues emerged, and we learned quickly that different venues need different solutions. In response, AirOffices evolved from single-pod bookings to scan-to-book boardrooms, meeting spaces, subscription packages, and Airmiles, giving companies flexible access to workspace for their teams.

Why we built it

Our guiding phrase — the power of just one hour — came from a working mother who described how much she could accomplish in one concentrated hour compared with a scattered morning. It captured something we believe deeply: focused work matters, and most people don't need a permanent office, they need a professional place to work for the next hour.

Today AirOffices partners with coffee shops, hospitality venues, conference centres and businesses with underused space to make productive workspaces more accessible across South Africa. We connect people who need a professional place to work with venues that already have the room. We keep listening, keep learning, and keep improving — because sometimes, one focused hour can make all the difference.
